A Nevada man and self-labeled 'anti-alien activist' has been arrested for attempting to abduct a child.

Joey Perkins, age 44, ran the popular conspiracy blog Wake the Nation

Wake the Nation has faced many controversies and scrutiny since it was started earlier this year for running smear campaigns and propagating false information. In a testimony given by armed protestors who stormed an elementary school in protest of an alleged "alien teacher", Wake the Nation was mentioned and cited for "inspiring" the attackers.

According to the kids parents, Perkins followed her around in his car after she got off of her school bus. Perkins told the kid that he knew her family, and that he was instructed by them to pick her up and take her to meet her parents in the hospital as her father had suffered serious injuries from an accident while she was in school. The girl said that she 'felt that something was off', and ran home. After telling her father about what happened, the two drove around the neighboorhood looking for Perkins' car. Perkins was found parked about a mile away in a CVS parking lot.

Perkins is currently being held in state prison and awaiting trial.
